Elisa Machado Taveira is a Brazilian architect and urban planner with solid experience in cultural heritage preservation, public administration, authorization and inspection procedures, and interinstitutional cooperation for the protection of cultural assets. She currently serves at the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) as General Coordinator of the General Coordination of Authorization and Inspection (CGAF) and is also listed as Acting Deputy Director of the Department of Material Heritage and Inspection (DEPAM).
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), completed in 2009.
Her professional trajectory includes leadership positions at IPHAN, such as Superintendent of IPHAN in Espírito Santo, Deputy Superintendent, and Head of the Technical Division of the state superintendency. She has also worked as a consultant, professor, and researcher.
Her work has been associated with initiatives involving the protection of Brazilian cultural heritage, including public discussions on preservation policy, institutional cooperation, and monitoring of cultural assets, such as the Bank of Sought Cultural Assets (BCP) presented in partnership forums with public authorities.
